ドメインを新しく取得したらNewRegistrationHelp.comという謎のところからスパムメールが来た

先日ドメイン(.com)を新しく取得したんだけど、
NewRegistrationHelp.comという謎のところからメールが突然来た。

なんなんじゃろうととりあえず調べてみたのでその話でも。

来たメールの内容は下記のような感じ。

Congratulations on your purchase of ドメイン名

You MUST have accurate and updated contact information. Providing false or inaccurate contact information
can be grounds for the cancellation of your domain name registration as required by ICANN (More info below).

You can also protect your brand by registering all related domain extensions (ie: .com,.net,.org...) before someone else does.

内容とか真面目に読むのもなんかめんどくさいなぁと思ったので、適当に内容をかいつまんでみたところ、
ICANNとかみたいにドメイン管理してるところだよー、
あなた新しくドメイン取得したのでここのURLクリックして正式に登録してよ的な感じなんじゃないかと。
とりあえずスパムメールなんだろうと思う。
ちなみにgmailの迷惑メールフォルダにちゃんと入っていたけど。

で、このメールが送られてきた原因としては、
whois情報をドメインレジストラの代行情報とかにしていなかったからかなと思う。
ネームサーバなりICANNの情報なりなんらかで新しく登録されたドメインを見て、
そのドメインの所有者に対してメールを送っているんだと思う。

ということでこういったメールが来てもちゃんと無視しておきましょう的な。
でも日本語でこれについて書いている人がいないのは不思議だなぁと思った。
